● Agnetha (Nickel) Schmidt Hiebert, 94, a resident of Bethesda Home, Goessel, died May 10 at the home. Funeral services were held May 14 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel with Dennis Schmidt and Milton Harder officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She was a native of Corn, Okla., and a homemaker. She had lived in Goessel since 1979, moving from Hillsboro. Survivors include two sons, Orlando Schmidt of rural Hillsboro and Roland Schmidt of Topeka; one daughter, Esther Fleming of Goessel; four stepsons, Menno Hiebert and Paul Hiebert, both of Goessel, Otto Hiebert of Newton and Levi Hiebert of Wichita; two stepdaughters, Lena Hiebert of Goessel and Elizabeth Frey of Newton; two sisters, Anna Harms of Newton and Katie Penner of Hillsboro; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and numerous stepgrandchildren. Her first husband, Henry H. Schmidt, died in 1946. In 1947 she married Henry G. Hiebert. He died in 1961.
