Farmer, Co-Founder Of Bank Dies

Ephrata, Pa. — Funeral services for John M. Hertzler, 86, prominent retired farmer of Morgantown, were held Nov. 19 at the Conestoga Mennonite Church there. He died Nov. 15 at a Lancaster hospital.

Mr. Hertzler was one of the founders of the Elverson, Pa. National Bank and served as a director. He was a member of the Caernarvon Township School Board for 18 years, most of that time serving as president. In addition, he had been a director of the Millersville Children's Home for 42 years, and of the Tel-Hai Rest Home and Camp Assn., Honey Brook, since its beginning in 1949.

He and his wife, the former Lena Swartzendruber, would have observed their 60th wedding anniversary in January.
