ELIZABETH K. HERTZLER

Elizabeth K. (Stoltzfus) Hertzler, daughter of Isaac and Barbara Stoltzfus, was born Nov. 2, 1873, in Union County, Penn.; died Nov. 24, 1956, at the home of her daughter Anna near La Junta Colo., aged 83 years, 25 days.

She was married to Christian Hertzler on Dec. 4, 1900. He preceded her in death almost ten years ago. immediately after they were married they moved to Kansas and lived in or near Hesston until the death of her husband.

There were born to this union four daughters: Carrie, Anna (Mrs. Paul Hershey), of La Junta, Colo., Ruth (Mrs. Walter Martin) Iowa City, Ia., and Ellen, who died in 1933 while in school at Goshen College.

Soon after the death of her husband she disposed of the home in Hesston and has made her home with her daughter Anna in Colorado, except for a short period which she spent with her daughter Ruth.

She accepted Christ as her Savior in early girlhood and has been a consistent member in the Mennonite Church. She with her husband had their church home with the Pennsylvania congregation near Hesston until the organization of the Hesston Mennonite Church, where she retained her membership to the time of her death.

Besides her three daughters, she leaves six granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were conducted at Hesston by Milo Kauffman and Ivan Lind. Burial was made in the Pennsylvania Church cemetery at the side of her husband.
