Killed When Large Truck Hits Buggy

Orrville, Ohio. — A large semi-trailer crashed into the rear of a horse-drawn buggy on busy U. S. Highway 30 near here Oct. 15, fatally injuring Mrs. Lizzie Hershberger, 68, of Jackson Center, Pa.

At the time of the accident, Mrs. Hershberger and her daughter Elizabeth, 24, were being taken to a bus stop by a brother, Jacob D. Hershberger, 63, to return to their home. the daughter and brother had only minor injuries, although the buggy was demolished.

Mrs. Hershberger, widow of Joe Hershberger, was a former resident of Homes County and a member of the Amish church. The body was returned to mercer County, Pennsylvania for final services and burial.
