MRS. OSA HENDERSON

Mrs. Osa Henderson, daughter of the late Jessie and Betty Treavey [sic Trevey] Brydge [sic Bridge], born April 10, 1871, and fell asleep at her home near Lyndhurst, Va. Feb. 2, 1953, age 81 years, nine months 23 days.

On April 24, 1892, she was united in marriage to George W. Henderson, who preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1936. It was her privilege to share the joys and sorrows of marriage 44 years. To this union were born six daughters.

The Lord rewarded her and gave her the privilege to rejoice in the fact that all her children were saved in their youth. In 1908 her husband was ordained and served 28 years until his death.

In 1904 she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Mt. View Mennonite church, Lyndhurst, Va., of which she was a faithful member and worker until her health failed. She had been in failing health for the past seven years.

She was a kind, loving mother with a great devotion and concern for her family, her neighbors and her church. Her home was like the home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, a home where everyone was welcome and one would always long to go back. Her love for Christ was evident and was especially seen in her willingness to entertain visitors. She was never too busy to fix a good meal and have one eat before leaving. She will always be remembered as a faithful, praying mother and aunt.

She leaves to mourn her departure five daughters, Mrs. Marie Quick, Mrs. Betty Sneed [sic Bettie Snead], and Mrs. Daisy Fitzgerald, all of Lyndhurst, Va., Mrs. Bedie Coffey of Staunton, Va., and Mrs. Ida Snead of Lynchburg, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Broughman of Roanoke, Va.; and two brothers, E. R. Brydge [sic Bridge] and J. B. Brydges of Lyndhurst; three granddaughters and one great grandson, and many other relatives and friends. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one infant daughter (Marie), her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Critzen [sic Critzer] on Dec. 23, 1931, and Rena [Irene] Brydge [sic Bridge], Oct. 11, 1889, and two brothers, Dellie [Dellus] Brydge [sic Bridge], Oct. 15, 1952, and Fulton Brydge [sic Bridge], Oct. 15, 1889.

Funeral services were held at the Mt. View Mennonite church, Lyndhurst, on Feb. 4, in charge of Joseph Driver, Perry Burkholder and her nephew, Silas W. Brydge, with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were her nephews.
