ERNEST ISAAK HEINRICHS

Ernest Heinrichs was born to Isaak and Susanna (nee Bergman) Heinrichs on July 14,1906 in Chuvillino, Ekaterinoslav, Russia, the sixth of nine children. He came to Canada in 1923, settling first in Steinbach, Man. From 1927 to 1939 he lived in various parts of Ontario, but finally made Port Rowan his home. He lived here until the Lord called him home on December 27,1977.

In 1934, Helen Wiens became Mr. Heinrichs' bride. To them were entrusted three children. Their prayers that their children and their spouses would become born again believers were answered. The Heinrichs both became members of the Port Rowan Mennonite Brethren Church after baptism at that church in July, 1939. He had accepted the Lord as his Saviour in his teens.

After a relatively healthy life and a happy, healthy Christmas with his whole family, Mr. Heinrichs was taken home on December 27 following a heart attack. Pastor Walter Janzen officiated at a funeral service in the Port Rowan Church on December 30.

Left to mourn are his beloved wife, Helen; two sons and their wives, Robert and Agnes, and Norman and Rosemary; a daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Larry) Wiebe; nine grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
