ELIZABETH HEINRICHS

Mrs. Elizabeth Heinrichs of Port Rowan, Ontario, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Nikolaus Dyck of Rueckenau, South Russia in 1888. Because of her father's death and her mother's illness she was raised in the Peter Thomsen' home as a foster child.

She was predeceased by two husbands; Peter Hildebrandt, whom she married in 1911, and Jacob Heinrichs, whom she married in 1919. She had four children by her first husband, two of which predeceased her. Mr. Hildebrandt died in 1919 in Siberia. Her second marriage was blessed with seven children of which four are living.

The Heinrichs came to Canada in 1926 and settled in the Justice, Manitoba area. They were baptized and joined the M.B. church in 1933. In April, 1948, Mr. Heinrichs died and that same fall Elizabeth Heinrichs moved to Port Rowan.

Just over a year ago she entered hospital for the treatment of cancer. Despite an amputation and painful illness, she never complained. She was ready and waiting for her Lord. She was a great blessing in her illness - those who went to comfort, came away comforted themselves.

She passed away on July 1, 1954. Surviving are six children, three sons and three daughters, all at Port Rowan except one; and 31 grandchildren.
