Three Die in Ontario Traffic Crashes

Milverton, Ont. — Three residents of this area were fatally injured in late February traffic accidents.

Bruce Walter Ruby, 21, of Tavistock and Mrs. Elmer Heeney, 70, died as a result of a two-car crash at Hickson, Ont. on Feb. 25. The Ruby youth was a passenger in a car driven by Richard Ropp, 22, of Hayesville, who was not injured. Carol Ramseyer, 20, another passenger, suffered a compound leg fracture.

The entire right side of the Ropp car was ripped off when it struck a tree. Mrs. Heeney died Feb. 27. Her husband, driver of the other car involved, was hospitalized but is improved.

Bruce Ruby was a member of the East Zorra Mennonite Church, where the memorial service was conducted Feb. 28 by Rev. Daniel Wagler.

Memorial services were held at the Steinman Mennonite church, Baden, on Feb. 24 for Rueben [sic Reuben] Bender, 57, who was badly injured Feb. 20 when his car crashed into the rear of a Gray Coach bus which had halted to pick up passengers. He died the following day in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener.

Survivors included his widow, one son, four daughters and six grandchildren.
