— The many friends of Mrs. Clara Haury, wife of the late Prof. G. A. Haury, were deeply grieved to hear of her death at Los Angeles, Calif., last Saturday. Her death came very unexpectedly after a short illness of pneumonia while at the home of her sister, Mrs. D. C. Welty in Los Angeles, at which place she had made her home since last summer. Prof. G. A. Haury, Jr. of Newton, upon receiving word of the serious illness of his mother, made immediate arrangements for a hurried trip to her bedside, however, her death was reported before he could leave here. The body arrived in Newton Tuesday, accompanied by her two sons, Alfred of Los Angeles and Emil of Globe, Ariz. Funeral services will be held at the Bethel College chapel this afternoon and interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
