Retired Ohio Farmer Passes

West Liberty, Ohio. — Jesse C. Hartzler, 72, retired farmer and carpenter of Rt. 1, Bellefontaine died Aug. 17 at his home. He had been under a doctor's care for some time.

The son of Isaac and Emma Yoder Hartzler, he was born Sept. 6, 1887 in Salem township, Champaign county, and was married in 1899 to Lydia Diener, who died in 1927. He was a member of the South Union Mennonite church.

Survivors include two daughters, Grace of the home and Mrs. David (Olive) Kauffman of Rt. 2, West Liberty; three sons, John and Glenn of Urbana and Lloyd of Rt. 2, West Liberty; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Holdren of Coshocton; a half-sister, Mrs. Clarence Detwiler of Rt. 1, Bellefontaine; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
