Former MCC Worker in Korea Dies in Winnipeg, Manitoba

SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. HARRY HARMS, AND INFANT DAUGHTER

Winnipeg, Man. — The auditorium of the Mennonite Brethren Bible College here was filled to capacity Jan. 12 for memorial services conducted for Mrs. Harry Harms, 35, former MCC worker in oKrea [sic Korea], and her infant daughter.

Mrs. Harms, the former Clara Eshleman of Harrisonburg, Va., died during delivery of the baby the night of Jan. 10, and the infant also passed away. Following the services here, the bodies were sent to Virginia for final services and burial at the Bank Mennonite Church.

A native of Massillon, Ohio, Mrs. Harms received her high school training at Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, and later took a secretarial course at Goshen College. She was employed in offices at Goshen College, Scottdale, Pa. and the MCC headquarters, Akron, Pa.

While at Akron she volunteered for service in Korea, and served in the Far Eastern country for three years in rehabilitation of war widows. Her marriage to Harry A. Harms of Sardis, British Columbia, former Pax man in Korea, took place Dec. 17, 1958. The couple came here last fall to enroll at the M. B. Bible College.

Surviving in addition to her husband are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Eshleman, two brothers and four sisters. A sister, Velma, on furlough from Tanganyika, East Africa mission field, was with Mrs. Harms at the time of her death.
