● Funeral services took place Jan. 25 at the Grace Hill Mennonite Church, Whitewater, for Hilda (Mrs. Waldo Harms, who died Jan. 21 at the age of 75. Vernon Lohrentz officiated. Born Hilda Nachtigal, she was married in 1933 to Waldo Harms, who survives. She had been a Whitewater resident since 1941, having formerly lived in Buhler and Hutchinson. Other survivors include three sons, Clayton and Galen, both of Whitewater, and Orlin of Newton; three daughters, Rita Patterson of Valley Center, Verla Vogts of Alva, Okla., and Connie Fukudome of Winchester, Mass.; a brother, Eldo Nachtigal of Buhler; a sister, Evelyn Terry of Wichita; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
