Virginia Businessman, Officer of EMC Board Dies Under Tractor
Harrisonburg, Va. — Frank T. Harman, 56, vice president of the Board of Trustees of Eastern Mennonite College, was killed instantly Thursday, Oct. 31, when his tractor overturned on a hill slope and pinned him beneath it.
Mr. Harman was an active member of Weavers Mennonite Church and president of the Mennonite Property Aid Plan.
A prominent businessman, he cwned [sic] operated Frank Harman Hatchery and Harman Poultry Supplies in Harrisonburg, and was president of Service Oils, Inc.
On Aug. 28, 1940, he married Frances Suter, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Harriet L. Harman, a senior at Eastern Mennonite College; two sons, Orden L. of Harrisonburg and Carl B. who is in Voluntary Service with the Mennonite Central Committee in Haiti; one sister, Mrs. M. S. Brunk of Harrisonburg, and two brothers, Howard D. Harman of Mt. Crawford, Va. and John W. Harman of Macon, Miss.
