PETER B. HARDER

Peter B. Harder was born Sept. 16, 1870 in Schoenthal, S. Russia. In 1877 he accompanied his parents to Mountain Lake, Minn., arriving here Aug. 8. In 1892 he became a member of the Mennonite church of Mt. Lake.

He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Dirksen after which he lived on a farm 4 miles southwest of mt. Lake where he spent the rest of his life. Seven children were born to them of whom one son died. He is now survived by 9 sons and 3 daughters besides his wife who are mourning his early and sudden departure. He died January 6 at 5 o'clock on his farm, reaching the age of 60 years 3 mos. and 21 days. He suffered rheumatism for the last 17 years and during the last 12 years he was not able to work. — For 17 years he has been active as member of school board.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Mennonite church Monday afternoon. A large number of relatives and friends were present.

The 85 years old mother of the deceased is still living; 6 brothers and 4 sisters are also surviving him.
