Mrs. Maria Harder

Mt Lake, Minn., April 17 — Funeral services for Mrs. Maria Harder, who succumbed Sunday morning after an illness of several years duration, were held yesterday afternoon from the First Mennonite church. Rev. I. J. Dick was in charge of the services, and Rev. Harry Nelson and Rev. Jakob Stoess also spoke.

The deceased was born in Friedensdorf, Russia, in 1862, and came to this country with her parents in 1872. She was married to Peter P. Harder in 1885, and ten children were born to the union, which ended with the death of the head of the family in 1922. Of the ten children, only four are living to mourn the death of their mother. They are Mrs. H. P. Rempel of this city, Mrs. C. J. Beler of Delft, Mrs. Peter Anderson of Brewster and Isaac P. Harder of Wichita, Kansas. All of them were present at the funeral services. In addition, she leaves sixteen grand children, one sister, and many other relatives and friends.

She has been in poor health for several years, but during the last year she has been afflicted with severe heart trouble. She was cared for in the Old People's Home and later in the hospital. She reached the age of 67 years, 3 months and 29 days. — Mt. Lake Observer.
