MRS. LILLIE ELLA HARDER

Mrs. Lillie Ella Harder was born at Fern Ridge, 12 miles northwest of Eugene, Ore. on Nov. 25, 1896. She lived in the surrounding community of Salem most of her life.

She was baptized upon the confession of faith in her Redeemer, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 11, 1911, by Rev. S. S. Baumgartner, at which time she also joined the Emmanuel Mennonite church at Pratum, where she remained a faithful member until the close of her life.

On Sept. 8, 1923, she was united in marriage to John E. Harder and to this union was born one daughter Marie. Mrs. Harder enjoyed good health until Monday evening, Aug. 13, 1951, when she suffered a light hemorrhage of the brain. Thursday morning, Aug. 16, 1951, at 1:53 she had another hemorrhage at which time the Lord was pleased to take her home to Himself.

Her life as a mother and wife will be greatly missed. She loved her Bible and was much concerned about the times in which we are living.

She died at the age of 54 years, eight months and 21 days. She leaves to mourn, her husband, John E. Harder and her daughter Marie of Salem, Ore.; her father Daniel J. Steiner of Silverton; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Schaad of Salem; two brothers, John D. Steiner of Silverton and Elmer A. Steiner of Pioneer, Ohio.

Her mother preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1943, as did also a sister Florence, who died Aug. 21, 1922. In addition to her immediate family she also leaves to mourn her departure three nieces and three nephews and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted in the Emmanuel Mennonite church at Pratum Aug. 18, 1951, at 2:00 o’clock with Rev. W. A. Regier officiating. Interment was in the Pratum Mennonite cemetery.
