Immigrant of 1874 Dies at McPherson

Inman, Kan. — Funeral services were held at the Bethel Mennonite Church near here April 13 for Jacob J. Harder, 90, who was born in Russia in 1874 and came to the United States the same year. The services were in charge of the pastor, Rev. P. A. Wedel.

A long-time resident of the Inman community, Mr. Harder died April 9 at George's Nursing Home in McPherson.

Surviving are two sons and four daughters, of whom Agnes Harder is a Mennonite missionary in Africa; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Franz of Dallas, Ore.;18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
