Isaac P. Harder

Isaac Harder, son of Peter and Maria Fast Harder, was born in Mountain Lake, Minn., on October 3, 1979; where he spent his childhood days and attended the public schools from his parents on the farm, located south of the city of Mountain Lake until he grew to manhood. He was baptized upon confession of faith by Elder H. H. Regier and united with the Bethel Mennonite church.

He came to Aberdeen, Idaho, in 1913 and homesteaded west of the town. Later he went into the garage business in company with one of his close friends, Mr. Calvin Moser of Aberdeen. in later years he became owner of the tourist camp ground and two gasoline filling stations in American Falls.

Although the departed was blessed with a strong physique, yet in the past seven years his health has been failing. He entered the American Falls hospital May 6, 1937, and was dismissed on May 20, apparently recovered from his ailment. About 12 days before his death, he again entered the hospital for treatment, but in spite of all medical care this proved to be his final illness and he died early in the morning of February 5, 1940, after having been unconscious about 10 days. He reached the age of 60 years, 4 months and two days.

One brother, Henry Harder of Loveland, Colorado, and one sister, Marie F. Harder of Mountain Lake, Minn., were at his bedside until the end came. He leaves to mourn his departure the brother and sister above mentioned, and many friends.

Funeral services were held in the American Falls Methodist church, under the direction of the Rev. Phillip Wedel of Aberdeen, who was assisted by the male quartet of Aberdeen.

Funeral services were held from the First Mennonite church in Mountain Lake Saturday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. I. J. Dick. Interment was made in the Mountain Lake cemetery.
