KATIE HANDRICH

Katie Handrich, daughter of Jacob and Anna (Jantzi) Gascho, was born Feb. 12, 1892, in Ontario. She died Aug. 28, at Tolfree Memorial Hospital, West Branch, Mich., at the age of 69 years, six months and 16 days.

She moved with her parents to Minnesota and later to Michigan. She accepted Christ in her youth and united with the Amish church, later transferring her membership to the Fairview Mennonite church, of which she was a faithful member until her death.

She was married to Samuel L. Troyer on Dec. 11, 1911. He preceded her in death July 8, 1945. Five children were born to this union, Anna (Mrs. Herald [sic Harold] Sharp of Lachine, Mich.), Era of Mio, Mich., Levi of Middleburg, Ind., Wilma (Mrs. Lyle Bontrager of Clare, Mich.), and Savila (Mrs. Bruce Handrich of Germfask, Mich.)

On March 20, 1958, she was married to Elmer J. Handrich, Fairview, Mich., who survives. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Conrad Bender of Au Gres, and one brother, Aaron of New Hamburg, Ont. Two brothers, John and Gideon, preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her husband, family, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were held Aug. 30, in charge of Harvey Handrich. Burial was in Fairview cemetery.
