JOHN HANDRICH

John Handrich, 74, died suddenly in his home at 2904 Whewell St. in Quincy, Ill., on Sept. 4, at 10:15 a. m.

Born April 2, 1884, near Dover in Lee county, Iowa, he was the son of the late Jacob and Marie Dieffenbach Handrich. He resided in the Donnellson vicinity until four and a half years ago when he moved to Quincy, Ill., retiring at that time from the State Highway maintenance crew.

He was a member of Zion Mennonite Church, Donnellson.

On Feb. 14, 1912, near West Point, he was married to Miss Emma Rotter, who survives as do also one daughter, Mrs. LaVerne (Ellen) Basinger of Quincy, Ill.; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Lowenberg of Donnellson, Mrs. Mary Frueh of Montrose and Mrs. Elizabeth Schindler of Pulaski; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 7, at Millers' Home for Funerals at 1:30 and in Zion Mennonite church at 2 o'clock with Rev. Harold Thiessen officiating.
