SIX-YEAR-OLD MICHIGAN BOY FATALLY HURT WHEN CAR HITS SLED

Fairview, Michigan. — Funeral services were held here March 22 for little Dennis Handrich, who was fatally injured while sledding Sunday, March 18.

The youth coasted out in the road in front of his home and into the path of a car whose driver could not see him because of high snowdrifts. He suffered severe head injuries and other hurts, was rushed to West Branch and then to a Saginaw hispital [sic], where surgery was performed. He seemed to come through the operation well, but passed away Monday evening, March 9.

Dennis would have reached his 7th birthday the following week. He leaves his parents, Richard (Dick) and Ruby Handrich; an older brother and a sister; the grandparents, Dan Yoders and Oliver Handrichs, and many other relatives and playmates.
