JOHN HAMM

John Hamm, son of William and Ann (nee Dueck) Hamm was born Oct. 29, 1897, on a farm near Beatrice, Neb.

He received his education in the Mennonite parochial and public schools of Gage County.

On May 23, 1915, he was baptized upon the confession of his faith and was received into the membership of the First Mennonite Church of Beatrice, where he retained his membership till the time of his death.

On March 5, 1931, he was joined in marriage with Margaret Claassen. One son, Gilbert John, was born into this home.

His life was spent as a farmer in the vicinity of Beatrice.

He passed from this life to his eternal reward early Sunday morning, Nov. 9, 1958.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, and their son, Gilbert; two brothers, William and Henry Hamm; five sisters, Katie (Mrs. Herman Thimm), Marie Hamm, Agatha (Mrs. Peter G. Claassen), Anna (Mrs. William Claassen) and Margarete (Mrs. Henry Penner); his mother-in-law, Mrs. J. P. Claassen, and many other relatives and friends.
