MRS. ANNA SARA HAMM

Anna Sara Hamm passed away of a heart attack on February 24 at the Menno Private Hospital in B.C. Funeral services were held on February 27, in the Clearbrook MB Church with Rev. Thielman and Rev. G. Ratzlaff officiating.

Mrs. Hamm was born May 8, 1878, in Sagradowka, Friedensfeld, Russia, the daughter of Aron and Anna (nee Pauls) Regehr. She accepted Christ as her Saviour at the age of 16 and was baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church at Tiege. On June 14, 1897 she was married to Bernhard Peter Hamm. This marriage was blessed with seven children.

In 1913 she left Russia with her daughter Anna and her family. They remained in Poland and Germany until 1948, then emigrated to Paraguay from where Mrs. Hamm came to Canada in 1949. She lived with her son Jacob at Arnold, B.C. They later moved to Clearbrook.

She leaves to mourn one son, Jacob, and one daughter, Mrs. Jacob (Anna) Friesen, both of Clearbrook, 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and three daughters-in-law in Russia.
