MRS. LYDIA HAGEN

Mrs. Lydia Hagen, daughter of Christian and Charlotte Rosbach Seibel, was born on August 15, 1884, in Marion County, Kansas. At the age of nine she moved with her parents to Fairview, Okla. Here she attended the rural schools and helped her parents in pioneer work.

At the age of 13 she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ under the preaching of the late John Harms. In 1896 she was baptized by the late Jacob Kliewer and united with the Hoffnungsfeld M. B. Church of Fairview, Okla. She loved this church dearly. She found great strength and comfort in Psalm 23 and Psalm 73.

On Oct. 25, 1905, she was united in holy matrimony to our father, Jacob B. Hagen. This union was blessed with four sons. In 1918 they came to Reedley, Calif. and at first united with the Dinuba M. B. Church but later joined the Reedley M. B. Church. These were blessed years in which she loved the church and rejoiced in her Saviour. Our father passed away in 1952. In 1956 she moved into the Reedley home for Aged.

Our mother enjoyed comparatively good health. However, in the last weeks of her life she was ill. On Wednesday she entered the hospital for special care, and Thursday night, April 23, 1964, the Lord called her Home to Glory. She reached the age of 79 years, eight months, and eight days.

Those who mourn her departure are her four sons, Bill, Jake and Lee of Fresno, Calif. and Herbert of Pasadena, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one brother, Charlie Seibel of Spearmon [sic Spearman], Texas.

The memorial service was held in the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Dan Friesen officiating.
