ISAAC HABEGGER

Isaac Habegger was born Aug. 15, 1883 in Bluffton, Ohio and died of a heart attack at his home in Upland, Calif. on Aug. 24 at the age of 80 years and nine days.

He was married to Katie Baumgartner in 1906 at Pandora, Ohio and they came to California to establish their home, living in Alta Loma, Cucamonga, and the last several years in Upland.

In 1931 they were privileged to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary at their home in Alta Loma with Rev. J. H. Baer, who had performed their wedding ceremony, as guest speaker. In 1956 they celebrated their golden anniversary in the parlors of the Mennonite church in Upland surrounded by their children grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Habegger was a victim of arthritis and for many years could walk only with the assistance of crutches or cans. His final summons came very suddenly. He was sitting on his porch when stricken. He had time to get to his bed where Mrs. Habegger found him when she returned from an errand. A doctor was called at once but life had departed before he arrived.

Survivors are his widow, Katie, of Upland; two sons, Olin of Alta Loma and Oliver of Bishop, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. J. E. Cline of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Albert Schmutz of Alta Loma, and Mrs. Robert Harvey of Mesa, Wash., two sisters, Nancy Habegger of Findlay, Ohio and Susie Habgger of Bluffton, Ohio; three brothers, Henry, Joseph and John, all of Bluffton; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the First Mennonite Church of Upland, where he had held his membership since 1906. Rev. David Habegger, pastor, officiated and interment followed in the Belleview Cemetery.
