FIRE TAKES LIVES OF TWO CHILDREN

Sonningdale, Sask. — A great tragedy struck the Jacob Guenther family here on February 22 when their home was destroyed by fire and their two children died, evidently having been overcome by smoke.

Mr. Guenther was working away from home, wile Mrs. Guenther had gone after water, which required about 20 minutes. Meanwhile she noticed smoke coming out of the house, rushed back and succeeded in snatching the two children (which had been asleep when she left) from their beds. One child was, however, dead upon her arrival and the other passed away soon afterward.

Mr. and Mrs. Guenther, who were left almost entirely destitute, found a temporary home with the neighbors.
