PIONEER MANITOBA FARMER DIED

Gretna, Manitoba. — Abraham Guenther, 87, pioneer Manitoba farmer, died at his residence here on Feb. 16. Funeral services were held from the Mennonite Collegiate chapel on Feb. 20 with Bishop D. Schulz and Rev. J. H.Peters in charge.

Born in Schoenthal, Catherinaslov, South Russia, he came to Canada with his parents at the age of 14. He farmed at Edental for 54 years, until his retirement in 1988. His wife, Kathrina, eight daughters, four sons, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and some great-great-grandchildren survive.
