JOHN GRUNDEMAN

John Daniel Grundemtn [sic Grundeman] was born January 3, 1883, in Russia and departed this life January 9, 1951, at the age of 67 years, 11 months, and nine days.

On October 23, 1904, he was united in marriage to Agatha Dyck Grundeman. To this union seven children were born, four daughters and three sons. Many hardships were endured but amidst them all there were also many blessings which the family enjoyed. One son died at the age of of [sic] five, 1921. The family circle was again broken when the Lord took the mother to her heavenly home on Dec. 4, 1949.

As a young man, Mr. Grundeman realized his need of a Saviour from sin, and threby [sic] accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. Later he was baptized upon the confession of his faith in his Lord and united with the Mennonite Brethren church at Inman, Kansas. In 1922 the family moved to the Mingo community where he and his family united with the Mennonite Brethren church community.

He suffered a stroke on Sunday afternoon, the last day of 1950 and all efforts of love by the children, by the hospital, and by friends were much appreciated, but above all the Lord was calling him to his heavenly home. Those of the family who feel this loss so keen are: Jake of Denver, Colo.; Jorn of Marquette, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey H. L. Trevathan of Eldorado, Ark. and their children Shirley Dean and Harvey L. III; Elizabeth Christina and Mary of Colby.

Funeral services were at Colby, Kansas on Jan. 11 with Rev. W. W. Regier and Rev. J. V. Pettit officiating. A men's quartet, Dave Dahl, Wm. Gaeddert, Virgil Buller and Jake Koehn, sang at the serivce [sic].
