RODLYN LEE GRUNAU

The death of Rodlyn Grunau, 22, of Saskatoon and Waldheim, Sask., occurred in the Saskatoon City Hospital on October 10, 1968. He leaves to mourn his early passing his wife, Betty; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Heppner; two brothers, Lorne and Daryl; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Petkau, all of Waldheim, besides many other friends and relatives. His father, Alfred Grunau, predeceased him when he was five years old.

Rodlyn Grunau was born on August 12, 1946. At an early age he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour and became a member of the Salem EMB Church at Waldheim after baptism on August 14, 1960.

His early schooling was taken in the Waldheim district where he graduated from high school in 1964. The last four winters were spent at the University of Saskatchewan in studies in chemical engineering. He had a keen, perceptive mind and, in spite of the illness which became apparent a year ago, he finished all his classes with high marks, including a summer school class this summer. To make sure his relations with the Lord would not suffer, he often studied with his Bible before him alongside his textbooks and notes. He was not backward about making his faith known to professors and hospital personnel.

On July 29, 1967, the highlight of life that every young man looks forward to came to him. He married Betty Petkall af Wa}dheim. All too few, it seems, have been the days of joy and happiness he shared with her, but God's nearness and strength helped them bear the days of disappointment, pain and sorrow.

The interment was in the Salem Cemetery, six miles northwest of Waldheim.
