text of obituary:

ANDREW ARTHUR GROENING

Andrew Groening was born at Altona, Manitoba, on August 10 1949 and passed away suddenly, June 10, as a result of an accident at Manitou Manitoba. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Groening of Regina, Sask. The funeral was held in the Mennonite Church at Clearwater, Manitoba, and a memorial service were held for Andrew at the Hill Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church in Regina where he attended and was active in the Sunday school and the Christian Service Brigade.

Andy enjoyed a healthy and happy childhood and accepted Christ in simple faith at the age of five. He graduated from the Wetmore Public School in 1963 and at present attended Balfour Technical School where he completed grade 11.

His early death is hard to understand but signs of God using it are already evident. A couple of non-evangelical background attended the memorial service and were impressed with the informal service and the friendliness of the congregation. Since then both have continued to attend and both have made commitments to Christ.

Andy is survived by his parents; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. H. Thiessen of Manitou; a sister Esther (Mrs. J. Thorgrimson) of Thompson; three brothers, Walter, Donald and Gerald, all at home; and two nieces.
