A fatal accident about 30 miles west of here occurred two weeks ago. Anna Gravel, 14, was coming home from a dance in heavy fog when the car in which she was riding left the pavement, throwing all three occupants through the windshield. A memorial service was held in the Oliver Funeral Chapel in Grande Prairie on Nov. 8, in charge of our ministers and a singing group. The funeral was held in the Rosedale Mennonite Church on Nov. 9, with Lorne Thiessen bringing the message from the 23rd Psalm. The family insisted on having the funeral here as Anna had attended our Summer Vacation Bible School. She had enjoyed the classes so much that her family could not think of any other place for the services even though they are Catholic. An overflow crowd attended with tears in most eyes. In God's sight tears have a purpose as well as smiles.
