Katie Graber.

Katie Graber, daughter of Daniel and Fannie Graber ws born near Noble, Iowa, August 4. 1893. She accepted Christ as her Savior when 14 years of age and upon confession of faith was baptized and received into the Sugar Creek Mennonite congregation where she remained a faithful member until death. it seemed it was not her lot tob e very strong physically but always seemed to be of a hopeful disposition. Some six weeks ago she contracted a form of influenza which caused much suffering in the acute stage after which her recovery seemed hopeful. Later other complications set in which resisted all that loving hands could do for her. She bore her suffering in a Christian way and got much comfort through prayer and the reading of the Word. She fell peacefully asleep on the morning of June 21, 1928, at the age of 34 years, 9 months and 17 days.

This was the first death in the family. She leaving her sorrowing parents, two brothers, Chriss L. of Goshen, Ind., Joseph D., missionary in India, also six sisters: Mrs. Ellis Zook of Wayland, Iowa and five at home besides a large number of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Sugar Creek church at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Simon Gingerich assisted by Rev. D. D. Miller and L. J. Hershberger of Wellman, Iowa. Interment was made in the Sugar Creek cemetery.
