Freeman Pioneer Called By Death
Freeman, S. D. — Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Graber, 83, pioneer settler here and the widow of Christian Graber, took place Aug. 10 at the Salem Mennonite Church. She died Aug. 8 in the Freeman Community hospital.
Mrs. Graber was born in Russia on Jan. 1, 1873, and came to this community with her parents the following year. In 1899 she and her husband again pioneered when they moved to a new settlement in Cavalier County, N. D. Mr. Graber lost his life in an accident there in 1914 and the family returned here the following year.
