MARY GOSSEN

Mary Gossen died Feb. 5. She was born Sept. 1, 1920 in Petrovka, Russia to John and Annie Gossen. In 1925 the family immigrated to Mexico, then in 1926 to Morden, Man. They moved to Nelson, B.C, and in 1930 to Yarrow, B.C She was not healthy but helped with farm chores. In winter she embroidered tablecloths, pillowcases and tea towels. She lived with her mother until her mother's death in 1968. She lived in Tabor Home, Clearbrook for 25 years. In 1997 she was transferred to Menno Hospital in Abbotsford. She enjoyed reading the MB Herald and the Mennonitische Rundschau, doing puzzles, and playing Bingo and Skip-Bo. She had a great reverence for God and found comfort in her relationship with Jesus. She was a member of Clearbrook MB Church. Predeceased by 2 brothers in infancy, brothers Jacob and Henry; sisters Annie and Betty, she is mourned by sisters Margaret, Agnes, 3 nieces, 3 nephews. The memorial service was held in her sister's home.
