MRS. HELEN GOSSEN

Mrs. Helen Hiebert Gossen was born at Mt. Lake, Minn. on May 6, 1892. She moved to Aberdeen, Idaho with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Hiebert, in 1911.

She was married to Henry C. Gossen on April 3, 1913 and they settled at Minadoka, Idaho on a farm. To this union were born seven children. In 1923 they moved to Salem, Oregon, and to Dallas, Oregon in 1929.

She passed away to be with her Lord on Nov. 1, 1959, after an illness of three years and one month, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ochs and family of Dallas.

She was baptized on her confession of faith at Minadoka, Idaho by Rev. Leonard Dueck. She had been a member of the Grace Mennonite Church since moving to Dallas.

She leaves to mourn her departure three daughters, Margaret, Mrs. Herman Ochs of Dallas, Esther, Mrs. Walt Barnett of Portland, Ore., and Louella, Mrs. John Brandt of Salem, Ore.; one son, Peter Gossen of Amsville, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John Steiner of Silverton, Ore., and Mrs. E. R. Busselle of Portland; three brothers, Pete and Frank Hiebert of Dallas and Nels Hiebert of Salem; nieces and nephews, and one aunt, Mrs. J. J. Wiens of Salem.

Three children, Albert, Violet and Robert preceded her in death, and her husband passed away in January 1944.

Funeral services were held at the Grace Mennonite church in Dallas on Nov. 5,1959. Rev. H. D. Burkholder, the pastor, officiated.


Note: Her husband is entered in GRANDMA #31076 as Heinrich C. Goossen, but all of their children with the surname Gossen.
