Mt. Lake Youth Killed in Vietnam

Mt. Lake, Minn. — Funeral services for Pfc Erwin J. Harder, 21, who was killed in action in Vietnam, were conducted May 9 at the First Mennonite Church here. Rev. Paul Kliewer, associate pastor, was in charge.

The young man, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Harder of rural Mt. Lake, died on April 29 as a result of enemy rocket fire. He had been in Vietnam since Feb. 10 of this year. He was a graduate of Mt. Lake High School where he was active in the FFA and on the track team.

In January Lt. Larry Gosen, a Navy pilot and son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Gosen of Mt. Lake, lost his life in combat in the Far Eastern conflict. He was married and had resided in California.
