— A pioneer settler of the Hope Valley area southwest of Hillsboro, Kansas, passed away on Aug. 18 at Dinuba, Calif. He was D. D. Hoossen, aged 70, a resident of the Reedley community for the past 10 years. Funeral services took place at the Zion K.M.B. church near Dinuba. Two daughters, Mrs. John Hiebert and Mrs. John Ewert, reside at Hillsboro.
