TRACTOR UPSET FATAL TO INDIANA FARMER

Kouts, Ind. — Christian J. Good, 63, a resident of this community since 1921, was crushed to death July 26 when the tractor he was operating went into a ditch and overturned. he was a member of the Hopewell Mennonite Church here.

CHRISTIAN J. GOOD

Christian J. Good, son of Christian and Lena Good, was born April 6, 1893, in Fulda, Minn., died unexpectedly at the age of 63 years, six months and 20 days. He was crushed to death on July 26, 1956, when the tractor he was operating fell into a ditch which ran through the field in which he was plowing.

At 14 years of age he accepted Christ as his Saviour, was baptized and became a member of the Mennonite church at Saybrook, Ill. On Jan. 21, 1915, in Beemer, Neb. he married Mary Birky.

In 1921 he with his family moved from Nebraska to the Kouts, Ind. community where they have made their home since that time. He was a faithful member of the Hopewell Mennonite church at Kouts, Ind.

He found real joy in living, and his smile and kindly spirit were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Surviving are his widow, Mary; one daugher [sic], Mrs. Arthur Birkey; three sons, Orin, Allen and Verlin Paul; one sister, Mrs. Amos Birky; two brothers, Joseph Good and Edwin Gutt; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of relatives and friends. His parents, three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
