Elder in Swiss Church Dies At Age 85
FRITZ GOLDSCHMIDT WAS PROMOTER OF EUROPEAN MENN. BIBLE SCHOOL
Akron, Pa. — Fritz Goldschmidt of Basel, Switzerland, will-known [sic] elder in the Swiss Mennonite church, died March 14 at the age of 85, according to information received at MCC Headquarters from Rev. Peter Dyck, European MCC director.
A cable from Rev. Dyck indicated that Elder Goldschmidt died during committee meetings at Bienenberg, Switzerland. He was a friend and promoter of the European Mennonite Bible school located at Bienenberg. He had participated in the ordination of a minister on March 6.
Bro. Goldschmidt had served as an elder of the Basel Holeestrasse congregation in Basel since 1927 and in later years also had elder charge of the Basel-Schaenzli congregation.
