HEINRICH GOERZEN

Heinrich Jacob Goerzen was born February 10, 1883, in Fuerstenwerder, South Russia. As a young man he was accepted into the Mennonite Church upon his confession of faith and baptism.

In 1904 he was married to Maria Reimer to which union the Lord gave eight children. In 1926 they came to Canada and settled in the Coaldale district where he farmed until his retirement in 1944. He was in failing health for over two years prior to his death in September 25, 1965. He was predeceased by an infant daughter and two adult sons.

Mourning his passing are his wife, Maria, five children, 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one sister in addition to many other friends and relatives.

The funeral was conducted in the Mennonite Brethren Church at Coaldale with D. J. Pankratz in charge, who preached a funeral message based on John 11:25,26. Also serving at the funeral and at the graveside were H. P. Nikkel and D. Dyck.
