Hillsboro, Kan. — Mrs. Jacob Goertz, who would have reached her 100th birthday on Sept. 1, 1960, died at Salem hospital here Jan. 17. She was Hillsboro's oldest resident.
Born Anna Lehrman in Vallevoginsky, Poland, she came to Kansas in 1884 as a young woman. After a short period of residence in the Alexanderwohl community near here, she moved to Hillsboro and had resided here ever since. Her husband died in 1940. Surviving are five children and a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Jan. 20 in the First Mennonite church, with Rev. Elbert Koontz and Rev. H. T. Unruh officiating.
