VENITA JOY GOERING

Venita Joy Goering, daughter of Walter and Doris (Schrag) Goering, was born in the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Hutchinson, Kansas, on August 1, 1946, and passed away December 24, 1946, also at the St. Elizabeth hospital at Hutchinson, at the age of four months and 24 days.

At the age of two weeks she became ill and never regained normal health. On December 4 her condition became serious and she was taken to the hospital. She seemingly improved rapidly. On December 22 she became critically ill of pneumonia. Beyond all medical care, God had other plans for her and called her home on December24 at 12:10 P. M.

Although she bore much suffering she endured the pain with a smile. Those left to cherish her memory are the loving parents, two sisters, Violet Jane and Vera Mae, and one brother Vernon Gene; her grandparents; two great-grandmothers and many relatives and friends. One infant brother Harry Dean preceded her in death.

She was a sunbeam of joy and will be greatly missed by the family. We who knew her, loved her. With her cheerful smile she brought much sunshine into the home.

Funeral services were held at the Pretty Prairie Mennonite church at 2:00 o’clock on Thursday, December 26, with Rev. P. P. Tschetter officiating. The Mennonite quartet composed of Gilbert Graber, Walter J. J. Graber, Victor Huxman and Lawrence Kaufman sang several selections. Interment was made in the Mennonite cemetery. — The bereaved Parents.
