text of obituary:

MRS. HILDA GOERING

Mrs. Hilda (Schwartz) Goering, daughter of Jacob and Fanny (Albrecht) Schwartz, was born July 13, 1905 at Pretty Prairie, Kan. She departed this life on Oct. 1, 1971 at the age of 66 years, two months and 17 days, following open heart surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.

She grew to young womanhood in the Pretty Prairie community where she attended grade school. She attended an academy in Hillsboro, Kan. for two terms.

She was baptized upon confession of faith in her Redeemer Jesus Christ on June 5, 1921 by Rev. J. B. Epp and became a member of the Pretty Prairie Mennonite Church.

She was married to Edwin J. Goering on April 22, 1928. The first 14 years of their married life were spent on a farm near Elyria, Kan. after which they moved to their present home near Pretty Prairie. They were permitted to share life's joys and sorrows for 42 and one-half years.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband; one son, Curtis Eugene of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Virleen) Unruh of Regina, Sask. and Marlow (Janice) Unruh of Hesston, Kan.; six grandchildren; six brothers, Ed, Rudy, Pete, Henry, Herb and Art Schwartz; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Graber and Emma Schwartz, all of Pretty Prairie, and a host of relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother and her eldest daughter, Betty.

She was a devoted wife and affectionate mother, always serving the Lord in a quiet way. With her gentle smile she showed us love in many ways and was always there with helping hands. Not only do we have the memories, but the great love she created. Now she is home with the Lord in his everlasting care.
