Mennonite Youth On Cattleboat Trip Meets Death In Italy

VICTIM OF BUS ACCIDENT ON WAY TO VIEW MT. ETNA IN SICILY

Sugarcreek, Ohio. — A former resident of this community, Paul Glick, 18, son of Albert Glick of North Lawrence, was fatally injured in a bus accident while on a sightseeing trip on the Island of Sicily March 6, according to word received by the parent. The young man had left the United States in February on a cattleboat bound for Albania.

A companion on the bus, Lloyd Hostetler, 20, son of Eli H. Hostetler, of Massillon, was injured in the same accident, which claimed the lives of three persons and injured 25. It was reported that the bus plunged off a mountain road while en route to Mt. Etna, the volcano which has been erupting in recent weeks.

Although the body of young Glick will not arrive in this country for some time, memorial services were held at the Mennonite church near Sippo, in Stark county, on Tuesday afternoon, March 11. He is survived by his father, six brothers and four sisters.
