Fatally Injured As Tractor Overturns

LOREN E. GLICK CRUSHED TO DEATH AT HOME DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Lancaster, Pa. — This community was deeply saddened when a tractor accident took the life of a 19-year-old youth here on the afternoon of Dec. 24.

Fatally injured was Loren E. Glick, son of Rev. and Mrs. Elam H. Glick.

Loren was driving the tractor over a bridge at the farm home to move an irrigation pump which had been used to flood a nearby area for ice skating. Somehow the tractor slid off the embankment, turned over and fell right on top of the youth.

His father, following with a pickup, saw the tragedy and rushed out to life the tractor from the boy's neck and chest. Other men also came to assist, but life apparently was already gone by the time the body was released.

Loren was in voluntary service with the mission board and had come home for the Christmas holidays.

A large crowd attended the funeral services held at Maple Grove Church on, Saturday afternoon Dec. 27.
