Father and Daughter Die in Christmas Day Crash in So. Dakota</p>

Freeman, S. D. — Double funeral services were conducted in Pioneer Hall at Freeman Junior College on Dec. 29 for Joseph D. Glanzer, 60, and his daughter Sandra, 18, who died in a head-on collision near Sioux Falls, S. D. on Christmas day.

Also killed in the crash was Donald Nelson of Sioux Falls, while Mrs. Glanzer was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with critical injuries.

Mr. and Mrs. Glanzer and daughter, residing in the Bridgewater community, had gone to Fairmont, Minn. to spend Christmas with a daughter and family from Wheaton, Ill. who came to Fairmont to meet them. The tragic accident took place as they were returning home.

Mr. Glanzer was a son of the late Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Glazer and a brother of Rebecca Glanzer, missionary nurse who died in India in May 1963. Mrs. Glazer is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Schrag of Freeman.

SANDRA KAY GLANZER

Sandra Kay Glazer, daughter of Joe D. and Edna Glazer, was born at Bridgewater, S. D. on July 2, 1946. She received her elementary and high school education at Bridgewater, where she graduated as salutatorian of her class.

Sandra took an active part in dramatics and music during her four years at school, accompanying glee clubs and soloists. She was also active in 4-H work the past nine years, entering state competitions on several occasions. This past fall Sandra entered South Dakota State University at Brookings, majoring in Home Economics.

She had been active at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bridgewater of which she became a member this summer.

She came home for the holidays to enjoy a family Christmas gathering at her parental home, also honoring her father on his 60th birthday. Christmas morning she accompanied her parents to Fairmont, Minn. to enjoy Christmas with her sister and family. Upon returning home Christmas night her life was taken in an accident in which her father was also a victim.

Sandra will always be remembered for her cheerful smile and pleasing personality.

She leaves to mourn her early departure her mother Edna; her sister, Orinne, one nephew, one niece, and her brother-in-law; her grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. John J. Schrag of Marion, S. D., uncles and aunts and many cousins.
