ORIE J. GINGERICH

Orie J. Gingerich, 63, of Iowa City, Ia. died at University Hospital following a heart attack at his home on Aug. 12, 1982.

Services were held Aug. 15 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, of which he was a member, with Alvin Desterhaft officiating. Private graveside services were held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.

Gingerich was born May 12, 1919 in Versailles, Mo., the son of Amos and Nannie Yoder Gingerich. He married Miriam Derstine on Aug. 3, 1943 at Souderton, Pa.

He graduated from Goshen College and received his dental degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He was a member of the Iowa and American Dental Associations and Rotary International. He practiced dentistry in Kalona, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Iowa City for more than 20 years.

Immediate survivors include two sons, Philip of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Steve of Parnell, three daughters, Mary Ann Gingerich of Iowa City, Janice Burkholder of Goshen, Ind. and Laura Gingerich of New Haven, Conn.; five grandchildren and six brothers and three sisters, Charity (Mrs. Menno) Troyer, Eunice (Mrs. Nelson) Histand, Paul Gingerich and Fred Gingerich, all of Hesston, Kan., Leroy Gingerich of Versailles, Mo., Truman of Kalona, Simon of Elkhart, Ind., Lois (Mrs. Wallace) Bender of Parnell and Clayton of LaJunta, Colo.
