WIDELY KNOWN CITIZEN OF WELLMAN, IOWA, DIED SUNDAY, JAN. 2

Wellman, Ia. — Joseph F. Gingerich, 73, a widely known citizen of this community, died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Bissey, Sunday, January 2. Mr. Gingerich had been a carpenter and contractor in this community for many years, and a large number of buildings in this section were put up under his supervision. Among these was the East Union Mennonite church, Kalona, built in 1922. At Hopedale, Ill., he also supervised the building of the large Mennonite church which was erected there in 1926.

Mr. Gingerich appeared in quite good health and had yet attended services at the Wellman Mennonite church on the day before his death.

He is survived by five children and many relatives and friends.
