AGED AMISH BISHOP CALLED AWAY IN DEATH AT BOWLING GREEN, MO.
Bowling Green, Mo. — Isaac E. Gingerich, 80-year-old bishop of the Amish church, died here Nov. 7 after a brief illness.
Bro. Gingerich served as bishop of the small Amish congregation in Jay County, Ind., until he moved to this community in January 1955.
The funeral services, held here Nov. 9, were widely attended by relatives and friends from Portland and Nappanee, Ind., as well as from Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, Illinois and Oklahoma. He leaves his wife, three adopted children and one brother, Daniel of Hazelton, Iowa.
