Well-Known Ontario Church Leader Dies

London, Ontario. — Rev. Arnold Gingerich, 59, well-known Ontario church leader, died at his home here on Oct. 4. Death was due to a brain tumor.

Ordained to the ministry in 1935, Rev. Gingerich served for 25 years as pastor of the Bothwell Mennonite Church. During this time he conducted a weekly radio program called “World Missions.”

He moved to London in 1960, and from 1961 to 1969 served as field secretary for the Ontario Mennonite Mission Board.

Since 1969 he had been executive secretary at Ausable Springs Ranch, a center for troubled youth.

He was a former president of the London Council of Churches, and recently helped produce a series of programs on a local TV station. He served on the executive committee of the Mennonite Council on Mass Communications.
